Our story

About AdFence

We didn't start out building monitoring software. We started out running the ads.

The agency years

The responsibility landed with us.

Before AdFence, we were running an advertising agency and handling live campaigns for clients. The performance was ours to explain, even when the problem was not ours to create.

One issue could cost thousands before anyone saw it. By the time the numbers looked wrong, the money had already moved and the client wanted an answer.

When something went wrong, the client blamed us, even when the cause sat outside what an agency could directly control.

What kept happening

Small changes. Expensive consequences.

The incidents did not all look the same, but they ended the same way: a live account changed, spend continued, and the agency had to explain the damage after it had happened.

  1. 01

A media buyer's profile gets compromised

Someone gains access through a profile the agency does not control directly, then activity inside a client's ad account starts changing.

  2. 02

A campaign goes live with a mistake

The wrong budget, audience, destination, or setting turns an ordinary setup error into wasted client spend.

  3. 03

    The client calls the agency

Whatever caused it, the client blamed us and asked the same fair question: why did nobody catch this sooner?

The gap

Blame was never the useful question.

We could spend hours proving whether a platform, a compromised profile, or a human mistake caused the problem. That did not recover the client's money or their confidence.

The useful question was how much earlier we could have seen the change. We needed the account to speak up while there was still time to act.

What we needed

  1. 01A change happens
  2. 02The team gets a signal
  3. 03There is still time to act

The first version

We built the watch we needed.

We started building a monitoring layer around the situations we had lived through ourselves. It had to keep watching after the media buyer logged off, notice the changes people miss, and give the team a clear signal before the client discovered the problem.

That internal need became AdFence. The product has grown, but the reason behind it has stayed simple: agencies should not have to learn about an expensive problem from the person whose account they were trusted to protect.

Read-only by default

Connections use OAuth. Monitoring never edits your ad accounts by default; actions that can change anything require separate opt-in permission.
